WHY I PAINT IN FRESCO

I find the process of painting in fresco to be a satisfying spiritual practice. It is connected to a grand past and has a promising future. When I paint, I feel the work focusing me in the moment and I gain strength from being totally present. Perhaps it is due to the nature of the materials. The colors are pure ground earth and you must paint quickly because you have only the time the plaster is wet to complete the work known as buon
fresco.
